Toy story 3!

Had to tell you all how FANTASTICAL toy story 3 was! I saw it last night and loved it - much better than 1 and 2! I wont give anything away so if you get the chance to go, do it!

blackberry tart

Step one - go swimming at the local school pool with your sister and nephews, get very warm pushing the buggy up hill and spot blackberries! Decide on the way back to pick them! (btw swimming was very very very fun)
Step 2 return to sisters house and get the pastry ready, wash the blackberries, and some pears and sugar, sneak a little bit of dark chocolate in.
Step 3 - bake
Step 4 - eat

Alternatively if you would like the proper recipe, head over to my sisters blog - Clobelle

Cakes!!

I firstly would like to apologise for the pictures - I made these late tonight and there was no light! I was attempting to make the cakes like the ones you get in the overpriced coffee shops!! I think my muffin tray is a little small and perhaps them on a bigger scale will work better - however I still love them!!

Sock owl

Hello I'm a brand new sock owl!! I have a slightly wonky eye and am made from a well worn(clean) sock and should have been made from a new sock I think but oh well it adds character I say!!

I was searching blog land and folksy shops and some how got to this tutorial
and I had to make a little owl!! It is 11pm now so perhaps not the best time to be sewing but when you have to do something it has to be done!!!

I am off tomorrow to buy more socks now so expect more owl related posts!!

more camping!

The first ice cream!! A very long cone but super yummy, I really want another now!

The toasting device came in very useful (my mum tried to persuade me NOT to get it, she wanted me to go waffle-less!!)

The fantastic little sandcastle mould, it kept me occupied for aaaaaages!! I even made a little empire, as you can see in the picture below!!
Yorkie tried to make a sandcastle with our brand new HUGE bucket and he broke the bucket - first sandcastle, it was sad times!!

Camping!

So here it is - tent all set up (in the wind!!) It lasted all 4 nights - one of torrential rain and I think gale force winds(ok it sounded like it but probably wasn't that bad)

The view from the tent - yes sea views - very lovely!!

The bunting!! loved the bunting - and the blanket, don't think I got a picture of the blanket - Yorkies half of the airbed was always too messy - but I will check and post if I do. It was ace, made the tent more homey!!
The first cooked breakfast and it was yummy times!!!

Just a quick post, am back from camping and am exhausted! Had a lovely time but weather turned bad and was going to stay that way for the rest of the week so came back early - only just finished unpacking!!

The night before ......

Tapas for tea! I forgot to take a picture before I started munching!! So instead it is half way through the meal!! It was super yummy and after we ate it we went off to the pub to watch the second half of the football! It wasn't very entertaining!!

This is a few pictures from country living magazine. I was flicking through (lovely magazine but far too expensive for me to ever buy!) and I saw this page - it was perfect - first of all bunting and any of you that follow my blog know that I like a bit of bunting!! Then a picnic hamper - also quite a few picnic related posts!! Finally enamel plates and mugs exactly like the ones I have just got ready for the camping trip!! I am very tempted to set up a little picture like this in my own garden!

It is now 11.10pm and we have just finished packing - it has taken so long because Yorkie thought it wise to bring 30+ pairs of pants, 25 t-shirts, hundreds of socks, work shirts ((why do you need work shirts camping??) 5 pairs of shorts, 3 pairs of football shorts and much more - so needless to say we spent a lot of time sorting through all of that!!

Sometimes it is the smallest things that can put a smile on your face and today it was noticing the additional follower I have!! You are very fantastical thank you muchly Sir!!
and just so it wasn't the smallest post ever - above is a picture of the train cake we did for my brothers birthday - every year he asks me to make him a train cake and I have to try and do it bigger and better each year! My sister got in on the action this year too.

These are what Yorkie purchased when we went to the local antiques centre! Of all the things in there these took his fancy!! They are quite cool but no idea what he is going to do with them! Next time i think it is my turn to purchase something!

Blankets - a long sunday afternoon

Above is a blanket I have made for my friend Rhi, it is backed in fleece, for super cuddly times!
Here is my camping blanket - backed in corduroy. Why is it that cutting the material out takes sooooooo long!! I am covered in little threads as well!!

The tent on its test run - I am so excited it is nearly camping time! My flat is over-run with camping things now! Want it to be now!!
And finally with my friends went to the pet shop today as they are looking for a hamster - absolutely feel in love with the bunny with dark ears!! I want!
